The International Hardware Fair took place in Cologne from 4 to 7 March 2012. As the leading fair of the hardware industry, it is an event of importance with a long tradition for the GEDORE Group. The GEDORE Group fair platform was again this year an undoubted success.

A great atmosphere was sensed at the GEDORE booth on all the days of the fair. In addition, the booth was well frequented at all times and numerous positive talks with customers were had. Visitors had the chance to find out more about the very many new items available. Full, instructive demonstrations of all new products took place in the technical section of the booth, in particular. One had the chance there to actually test the products or watch a varied selection of user films on flat screens.

The company had very much looked forward to the fair this year. “We have, in fact, developed a considerable number of new items over the past two years. In Cologne, we unveiled, for instance, the new, patented DREMOPLUS ALU torque multiplier series, which will be delivered with the certificate attached. This is very much a first”, according to Karen Dowidat, Managing Proprietor of the GEDORE Group. The DREMOPLUS ALU is manufactured within the GEDORE Group in Germany. Another new product is the DREMASTER mechanical torque wrench which won the Cologne Fair EISEN 2012 innovation prize in the practical handling category. The DREMASTER also obtained a distinction for its high quality design at this year’s red dot award – product design 2012. At the same time, patents were filed for a number of functions of the Solingen-manufactured DREMASTER.

These two products as well as the numerous new GEDORE items at the fair went down very well with the visitors. “The new items – and particularly the new torque wrench and torque multiplier – have been exceptionally well received by our customers. They very much show that we respond to customer needs and come up with real solutions to problems”, continued Elmar Pickhardt, GEDORE’s Head of Sales for Germany. “The point of our MAGIC 2012 and Pliers Presenter sales concepts – with the latter being provided this year in view of the anniversary celebration of our GEDORE Austria production site – is to strengthen cooperation with stockists in the trade.”

Since 1961, GEDORE has supported the hardware fair on a fixed site in the traditional hall for hand tools. The company has never failed the fair – even in low-growth years. “For us the hardware fair staged every two years is an ideal platform for both presenting our new products and maintaining personal contacts with our customers”, stresses Karen Dowidat, “This is something we also wish to retain”.
